Look at these little troopers! My favorite is either Rex or the Alien (: I know I’m not supposed to pick favorites but, oh well.. I’m hoping I get a hold of Lotso. Because well, even though he’s evil – he’s adorable! My apologies for the crap quality of my HTC Wildfire camera. I have no clue where my NIKON P90 is hiding out, so this will have to do for now.

Thank you weheartit.com

Today was such a good day. Today was lovely and I am truly happy. Downloaded Selena Gomez’s new album “A Year Without Rain“. I like it, you know it’s just fun. I don’t really care that she isn’t the strongest singer, hardly any of the artists are nowadays. She’s cool. Best song in the album? Probably “Intuition” or “Ghost of You”.  So yeah, I don’t have a lot to say for now. Just happy today, because today was such a good day (:

Haha, one of the most un-charming pictures ever taken of me and my mates, probably. Taken at a party with the theme: “Moustache Club“. If you look closely  you can see some of the eyeliner smudges still present on my face. But seeing as I’m all fidgety, most of it was already gone. I thought the theme was pretty sick, and the party was a ball too. Anyway, life’s been pretty swell. My senior year has commenced and so far, no stress. I quit my job at the bookstore, and the freedom is quite pleasant. I finally gave in to the hype and started to watch Glee and I plead guilty: I lovelovelove it. I think they’re covers are actually quite good most of the time! I was really imperssed. Definitely love their cover of Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believing”. Of course, all the awesome  TV shows have kicked off their seasons too, like Gossip  Girl; Big Bang Theory; The Vampire Diaries; Merlin and Stargate Universe. All have not failed to excite me any less. Now, I’m getting my geek on. So excited that a load of game release dates have been announced! According to www.tweakers.net Fable III by Lionhead Studios will be released for the XBOX360 on the 26th of October. For the World of Warcraft fans great news was announced this week. Catacalysm is set to be released on the 7th October, very smartly done by Blizzard, right before the holiday season. I can’t wait personally. March 27th, Dragon Age Origins II by Bioware (aka lovelovelove).  Resisting the temptation of gaming will be very hard, which is a bad thing seeing as I have my finals this year. Wish me luck in advance!

The last days of the summer holidays are always the worst. Fearing the commencing school year, dreading all the piles of work ahead. Shortly said: it is no fun. I can’t say the past few days in Holland actually felt like the summer. It’s been awfully cold, that if I didn’t know any better I’d think it was autumn! No? Well, mother nature had me fooled. I’m particularly anxious about this school year because it’ll be my last year which means: the finals will come to haunt me. Anyway, let’s try to think about that as little as we possibly can and enjoy the bliss of ignorance. I purchased an HTC Wildfire not too long ago and I’m so happy with it! The Android OS is really the best. Secretly I’d rather have an HTC Desire, but I thought that was just a little out of my budget and not worth it. I’m not such a big ‘tech’ geek, so I probably won’t even be able to use it up to its full potential. I used to own a Sony Ericsson K700i and let me tell you, those joysticks are the worst. All the people I heard that owned one of those had trouble with it within a couple of months. I was lucky enough to have found a little trick around the problem, but it was still a pain in the butt! So yay for touch screens!

Now onto a little update of the site. I added a “Music” section under “Other” which for the moment only contains: Merlin: Series Two Original Soundtrack – the entire album! It took me ages to find online so I felt like sharing it, making it just a tad bit easier to find a trustworthy file without any viruses. I personally am a big Merlin fan, so I love listening to the Medieval Music – guilty pleasure. Anyway, I’ll be adding more music there in the future so keep checking. If you have any recommendations on what I should put up there, let me know.

Loes

- Falling asleep to the sound of rain
- Goodmorning/Goodnight texts
- Hugging/cuddling
- When your tea tastes just right
- Looking at photographs of beautiful memories
- Sleeping in your own bed after you’ve been away
- Being sent mail
- Snuggies
- Old cartoons you used to watch as a kid
- When you’ve laughed so hard your cheeks hurt
- The day before the holiday begins
- Making it home just before it rains
- When you look up to the stars and are overwhelmed by how small you really are

I just wanted to give a quick little shout out to one of my oldest friends: Margot aka Dutch Bananas! She runs a blog @ blogspot and it’s starting to become a pretty sweet place to be, so you all should definitely go check it out sometime: http://dutchbananas.blogspot.com (: She’s going to have a lot of cool stuff posted up on there. The past two days she’s been hanging with me. We met when we were only very little all the way in Brunei where we both lived for a couple of years. Always stayed in contact, which I think is awesome. She’s the best, so show her some love!

The summer is almost over and I can hardly believe it flew by so fast. I spent the first week of my summer working every day in the bookstore I work at. Then the following three weeks were well spent in Thailand with my mum, brother and boyfriend.  It was one of my best trips there so far! Returning home, to Holland wasn’t all too bad however. I got to spend some quality time with friends which was much needed. Sad to say the weather hasn’t been summery at all over here, but I guess autumn was going to come sooner or later. I’ve started watching episodes of Survivor, man I really lovelovelove that show. It’s so intense! I wish I could compete sometime. This summer I got addicted to the TV show Merlin, I quit my job, took a bus (which I rarely do!) and had a great time. I’m not really sure if I’m looking forward to the next school year, seeing as it is my last. The finals are looming on the horizon and I’m starting to feel a little trepidation. Oh well, we’ll see how it goes. Just a little update from me (:

So I went to see the World Statues event in Arnhem on 29th of August with a friend.  It  was raining quite a bit but thankfully it didn’t spoil our day and we walked the entire route. Saw some really hardcore and dedicated living statues out on the streets. Here are a few pictures taken there (:

Okay, so maybe the weather in Holland hasn’t really been summery but that’s okay, I never really minded rain as long as I don’t have to bike through it or well basically – be in the rain. Today was a different case however, we were lucky enough to have to play rugby (football for all you Americans) in the pouring rain while the grass was as slippery as ever. Contrary to my prejudices, it was so much fun! Anyway, enough about the weather. I added a new feature on the blog, filed under “Other” and then “Fonts”. Yeah, I’m lame enough to lure you to my site so you can download some snazzy fonts. Go check it out if you’re looking for a snazzy font , no credit required mate (: Ah, I’ve been craving a new pair of sneakers, Vans Off The Wall to be precise. They’re so lovely, I believe they’re going to be as big of a hype as the Converse sneakers were, and still are.

The title of this blog post is a reference to a song by one of my favorite musicians: Vanessa Carlton, Private Radio. You should definitely give it a listen.

Five weeks of school left until the summer holidays kick off – I’m stoked. Okay, not so stoked about all the exams that’ll I’ll be facing within those five weeks, but snazzy things are happening in between and about. I’ll be seeing one of the sickest bands of all time on the 19th of June in Goffertpark, Nijmegen – Muse! For those of you who have only heard snippets of their music, don’t judge. I suppose it took me a while to get used to Muse’s sound, and once you do – you’ll love it, I guarantee you. On the 24th of July I’ll be going back to Thailand for three weeks to visit my fam down there. Really excited about that (: I’ll be sure to catch a couple of waves down at the beach and take loads of photos. Speaking of other things to ‘look forward to’, my 17th birthday is approaching. Five days to go, five days of being sixteen left. Loads of people think the age ’seventeen’ is shit because it’s not like your sixteenth birthday, which allows you to drink (in Holland, at least) or eighteenth birthday which permits you to drive a car. But hey, there are upsides to being seventeen. For one, you get to enjoy your last year of ‘technically’ being a teenager, get to use the excuse of being a child as much as you like because you can only use it for 365 days. You can feel ‘connected’ to the song “Seventeen Forever” by Metro Station, and well yeah .. this is me trying to be all “glass half full, not half empty” here, okay? Bought the book: “The Council of Dads” (Vaders voor mijn Dochters, in Dutch) written by Bruce Feiler. I’ve only read a small excerpt of the book so far, but I kind of love it. It’s about a young dad, diagnosed with cancer and worried about the future of his daughters. It’s heartbreakingly beautiful, pick it up from your local library if you ever come across it. Anyway, here’s Muse’s newest song: “Neutron Star Colission (Love is Forever)” which was written for the third movie of the Twilight series, Eclipse.I’m not quite sure if I like the song – I mean, well I do like the song because it’s Muse plus Matt Bellamy sounds amazing as always. Even though I like the Twilight books, I’m a little appalled by the fact that Muse specifically wrote this song for the movie. Maybe it’s just me.

Loes
